At First Baptist Church we believe that Christians are to be grounded in God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Just as a tree's root system determines the health of the tree, being grounded in the character of God determines the level of health in a person's spiritual life. Our Sunday services are intended to ground ourselves in God's character each week. We describe our worship style as approachable and acceptable to God. Sermons feature verse-by-verse preaching as we draw out the text's intended meaning and explain how it applies to the life of the individual.

Being a follower of Jesus means that we imitate Him in our attitude and actions. We believe that this growth happens best in community. Our church family is committed to growing in Christlikeness together through Sunday School, Bible studies, fellowship, and service. We also encourage personal growth through Bible reading plans, discipleship resources, and dedicated prayer times. Though we will never be perfect we strive for holiness, with the help of the Holy Spirit, because of God's grace in our lives.

Those who are grounded in God and growing in Christ will become generous people. Our church values giving to God and to others. We believe in offering a portion of our finances (10%) to the Lord so that His church can reach others with the gospel of Jesus. We encourage all members to give of their time through service within the church and the community. We support missionaries around the world, ministry partners throughout the Lowcountry, and seek to make a difference in Moncks Corner.
