2024 In Review
Thank you for giving to the Lord this year. Your tithes and offerings helped expand our church here in Moncks Corner and fueled the Great Commission around the world.
Here are a few membership and missions highlights from 2024:
New Members
We accepted 25 new members this year. God added people of all ages to our church family. We’re thankful for so many new covenant members who want to be “Grounded, Growing, and Giving” at First Baptist.
Baptisms
We baptized 7 new believers in 2024. Many of these were students responding to a gospel presentation at Vacation Bible School this summer.
Atlanta Mission Trip
An amazing week of refugee ministry alongside our partners at Clarkston International Bible Church. We were able to do English classes and children’s ministry in apartment complexes around the town of Clarkston.
We interacted with people from:
Sudan
Egypt
Tanzania
Afghanistan
Rwanda
India
Guatemala
Nepal
Pakistan
Myanmar
Ethiopia
Somalia
Congo
Syria
Costa Rica Mission Trip
Over the July 4th week, we served with our partners at the IMB: the Herrington family.
Our team had hundreds of gospel conversations in different neighborhoods around San Jose, Costa Rica.
Through kids’ activities and spiritual surveys, we were able to pray with people, invite them to church, and share about the gospel of Jesus.
Please continue to pray for this family as they follow up on those we met and as they work with local church leaders in Costa Rica.
Student & Kids Camps
Fuge Camps: Our middle and high school students served the Asheville area this summer. Groups participated in evangelism, landscaping, children’s ministry, and visited assisted living facilities.
KidSalt: Our elementary-aged kids attended KidSalt for a week at Charleston Southern University. They played, learned, and helped pack welcome bags for college freshmen through a partnership with Baptist Collegiate Ministries.
Disaster Relief
Our deacons delivered two trailers of supplies to Hendersonville, North Carolina, the week after Hurricane Helene brought devastation to the area.
WMU
Our faithful WMU group:
Sent 65 backpacks of school supplies to the Appalachian area.
Collected 56 prisoner packets distributed to inmates throughout South Carolina.
Operation Christmas Child
Our church collected 529 shoeboxes filled with Christmas presents for children.
Packing parties were held for Awana, First Students, and our Senior Adults.
2,086 shoeboxes from our area passed through our church on their way to children around the world.
Halloween Festival
We served again at the annual Moncks Corner Halloween Festival.
Volunteers donated, packed, and distributed more than 1,000 bags with candy, toys, glow sticks, and invite cards with information about our church.
Missions Offerings
10% of our budget automatically goes to supporting missions efforts.
Additionally, our church family gave directly to:
The Janie Chapman Offering
The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
Through these special missions offerings, our church gave thousands of additional funds to support missions in South Carolina, North America, and around the globe.
10-Year Anniversaries
Two staff members celebrated ten years of working at First Baptist:
Pastor Colby
Alex Carswell
Luncheons were held in the Fellowship Hall after worship in June and November.
