A Message from Dr. Charlie Wallace

Hello!

It is so good to have you at worship. Today, we are finishing up our “Follow Me” series where we have been looking at the early days of Jesus’ ministry as he was calling his disciples.

When Jesus calls a person to follow him, it requires an entire lifestyle change. Yes, we are saved and made right with God through the atoning work of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Yes, we are saved when we believe with our heart that Jesus is God and his work on the cross is the only way to be made right with God.

However, salvation is not just a “get out of hell free” membership card. Salvation means that we will follow Jesus wherever he may lead us. Once we become his and our identity is rooted in him, our life becomes a canvas by which he starts to paint a picture of us into his image. Following Jesus is a journey that never ends and one by which the longer we follow him the more we are conformed to his image.
