A Message from Dr. Charlie Wallace December 31st, 2023
Happy New Year!
Well, you did it! You survived 2023! I hope you more than survived, though. I hope you thrived. If not, however, tomorrow is the start of another year and another opportunity to follow Christ every step of the way. He will give you the grace to be successful! Today marks the last Sunday this year where I will preach through our Bible reading plan. I had never done this before (and may never again) but I hope that as you read the Bible each day and week, the sermons helped you “put it all together.” We make a BIG deal of the importance of being biblically literate at First Baptist (it’s how we know about Jesus after all) so we highlight our Bible reading plan as a first steps so to speak to help your personal discipleship.
Next year’s theme is going to be about the life and ministry of Jesus. We are going to spend 2024 following Jesus’ entire life: his birth, his preparation for ministry, his mighty works, his death, and his resurrection. My goal for you in 2024 is to get to know, understand and love Jesus better than you ever have before! That’ll start next Sunday. But for now, let’s celebrate what God has done in our lives in 2023!
In Christ,
Pastor Charlie
