Good morning, everyone, and welcome!
I hope your “Independence Day” weekend has been a blessing with family, food, fun, and fellowship.
When this holiday rolls around each year, I think about the faith and unwavering spirit our forefathers and colonists must have had in their quest for independence. There were probably many hard moments, but they persevered for the sake of the cause. That perseverance is something that still makes our country unique and envied.
However, even though God blessed our country’s battle for independence, we were created not to be independent but dependent on our Lord.
There’s a struggle in everyone’s heart to do what we want and when we want. Especially when times are hard, we often have more faith in our own abilities rather than relying in and on the faithfulness of our Lord.
So, let me ask:
When life isn’t easy, who does your heart’s faith run to?
This morning, we’ll look at Genesis 41 as Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dream while he’s in prison and the example of faithfulness in hard times.
Have a blessed Lord’s Day!
