Happy Sunday!
Today, as we gather together we are going to look at the compassion of Jesus as revealed in the gospel of Luke. In this passage, we will witness a
poignant encounter between Jesus and a grieving widow, a story that illustrates the heart of Jesus towards those who are suffering. As we unpack this story, let’s see how God will challenge us to show similar compassion to those we come across: those who are hurting, those who have hurt us, those we like, and those we dislike.
Jesus died for our sins. Sometimes we forget that people we come into contact with on a daily basis are also sinners. Jesus commands us to pray to forgive those who sin against us as He has forgiven us. Understanding the nature and concept of compassion will help us obey Jesus.
