A Message from Dr. Charlie Wallace
Happy Sunday!
Today we are going to be looking at a passage about the “difficulties” of being a Christian. Salvation is free to us and easy to attain. We
must repent from sin and place our faith in the work of Jesus Christ. Through his death, burial, and resurrection He has purchased eternal life and reconciliation to God for any who would believe. It’s that simple and costs us nothing.
However, there is a cost. That cost is how we then pattern and outline our lives. When we are saved, the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts, and we become new people. It is at this point that Jesus starts to mold us into the people he wants us to be: people with His heart.
This is what has been called the cost of discipleship. We have a new Father, a new spiritual family, and new brothers and sisters. We have new desires. Some know this and reject Jesus because of this cost. Yet, they do it to their detriment. Today, let’s hear from the Word as we learn more about how Jesus changes us into being his disciples.
