VBS 2023 Recap!

This year’s VBS (Vacation Bible School) was, by all accounts and worldly standards, a success! But, by God’s standard’s we believe it was a success as well. This year Lifeway gave us a board game theme called Twists and Turns. The central message was that Jesus will guide children through all of the twists and turns in their lives. Here are some of the highlights from the week:

• We had 179 children registered.

• We had a high attendance day of 138.

• We had 18 children profess interest in baptism.

• We raised over $1,100 for ministry in Panama City, Panama, led by International Mission Board personnel Tim and Tina Louderbeck.

As always, we had an incredible base of volunteers who made it all happen. As I walked the halls all week I never got a sense that any of the leaders were unhappy or critical. That can happen sometimes in these events. All of our leaders seemed to have true joy in serving for the week. And of course, our Children’s Director, Emily Wallace, managed it all like a true professional. Make sure to tell her how thankful you are for her service!
