Good morning, Church! We are excited to experience baptism this morning at our 11 am worship service. If you attend 8:30 worship and then Sunday School, feel free to swing by the very beginning of our contemporary worship to see these professions of faith.
Baptism, while not a saving action, is a key profession of one's faith by which Jesus has commanded people to participate. It is the entrance into Christ's church and a necessary spiritual marker for one's faith.
We are also continuing our sermon series on Freedom in Christ as we look at the Trap of Idolatry. Idolatry, that of worshiping and revering something other than God, is a sin that can slowly creep into our lives if we are unaware of the trap. Today we'll see what exactly we should avoid so that we do not find ourselves in spiritual captivity.
I'm so glad that you are here today. Don't forget! Next week we will be having one worship service only at 11:00. Come early to get your desired pew!
In Christ,
Pastor Charlie
